Menzner Hardwoods Co. is seeking a Controller reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer. This position is based at our Marathon, WI headquarters.

Position Summary:

The Controller is a key leader who will contribute to all areas of the organization and provide strong financial leadership. This position will:

•Ensure timeliness and accuracy of the company’s financial results

•Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and guidelines

•Mentor, train, and develop the Accounting, Accounts Payable, and Payroll teams

•Provide comprehensive financial updates to the management team by evaluating, analyzing, and reporting appropriate data points

•Develop budgeting goals with proper scheduling and analysis

Primary Responsibilities:

•Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidating financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)

•Monitor and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets, policies, procedures, and workflows

•Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures, adhering to local, state, and federal government reporting requirements

•Establish (in coordination with the CFO) financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, and reporting standards on a monthly and annual basis

•Analyze variances and communicate explanations to management with recommended actions

•Collaborate across functions to support various business initiatives

•Lead continual process improvement initiatives; identify areas of risk and direct the design, implementation, and oversight of solutions

Skills & Qualifications:

•At least 5 years of professional accounting experience, preferably as a senior-level accounting or finance manager

•Strong understanding of banking processes and financial data analysis

·Working knowledge of national and local tax regulations and compliance reporting

•Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field

·Professional Certification, such as CPA, preferred

•Experience with Oracle NetSuite, preferred
